Broadband Consultant

  • The Broadband Consultant will utilize their experience, research, technical and communication skills to deliver solutions to clients. The Broadband Consultant works with the ECC team, elected officials, government entities, community leaders and businesses to identify and develop solutions focusing upon the availability, deployment, and adoption of broadband in communities.

  • • Partner with and provide leadership to community leaders to identify issues with respect to broadband availability, adoption, and develop a vision with plans to resolve.

    • Understand the various Broadband technologies and capable of explaining them to customers.

    • Analyze Broadband programs.

    • Develop and implement effective Broadband strategies and collaboration opportunities.

    • Assist in development of a Statement of Work (SOW) for projects and deliver against SOW objectives.

    • Support development of effective proposals and responses to RFP’s (Request for Proposals) as directed.

    • Perform primary research including discussions, interviews and interactions with client, vendor, government, and other personnel as required.

    • Effectively engage in secondary research including independent identification and validation of secondary research sources, such as publications, database stores, statistical abstracts, transcripts, referenced Internet sites, et al.

    • Carry out quantitative research including data mining, data generation, creation of financial and operational models and performing value and risk analysis.

    • Implement qualitative research including performing market research and collecting business (business, technology, government, regulatory) intelligence (Porter & Miller/Heiman experience preferred).

    • Create, modify, and update ECC project plans as needed or required.

    • Support the consolidation of the findings to (a) present to a client and (b) develop solutions as required.

Make Ready Administrator

Fiber and Broadband Account Executive

  • The Fiber and Broadband Account Executive is responsible for forming and fostering strong relationships and navigating the hierarchy of customers organization to determine and work with the decision makers. This position will be responsible for covering the designated market area for achieving enterprise, and other telecom sales targets. This position is also responsible for identifying sales opportunities, qualifying leads, developing solutions, presenting proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing sales of dark fiber assets and other services based on your evaluation of the customer’s needs in a network planning and technical environment.

  • This role can be based out of Erie County, NY or Penfield, NY. Account Executive will be expected to travel regionally in Western New York to meet with customers.

  • Leadership

    • Provides technical, tactical, and strategic support for generating sales and ensure accuracy and professionalism.

    • Directs technical sales support team in developing solutions and presenting proposals to clients.

    • Provides expertise and community outreach to promote Community-wide Open Access Middle Mile Network and attract other telecom and broadband providers for advanced services and last mile FTTx opportunities.

    Sales

    • Prospects and uncovers sales opportunities, qualifies new leads and develops effective strategies to achieve sales objectives.

    • Presents, proposes, negotiates, and closes new sales and contract renewals in accordance with standard operating procedures.

    • Negotiates Master Service Agreements with clients.

    • Develops accurate and compelling responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP) using the ECC RFP Response process as needed.

    • Works with both internal and customer engineering and operations teams to convey customer requirements, proposals, and project timing.

    • Based upon costs defined by the engineering and operations team, generate proposals that meet or exceed required sales metrics as defined by ECC and the Open Access Network (OAN).

    • Supports internal and customer engineering and operations teams while service is being turned up from an account management perspective as needed.

    • Prepares sales and funnel reports for ECC management on progress using sales tracking software (Pipedrive™).

    • Participates in Business Networking, EDA, IDA, Educational Institutions, Healthcare, and County/Town events.

    • Works with internal engineering, sales and operations teams to determine and provide the best solutions for the customers.

    • Accomplishes all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

    • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of business-to-business telecommunications and/or broadband networks sales experience, or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required.

    • Must have a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage and valid driver’s license.  Business mileage is a reimbursable expense.

  • This role will have a base pay of $75,000 per year and will also be paid commissions on sales. Total compensation should be in the range of $110,000- $150,000 per year, but commissions are not capped and a high performer can earn much more.

Technical Designer

  • As a Technology Designer you are responsible for supporting Sr. Technology Consultants and/or Project Managers. As a member of the design team, you are responsible for system design, specification, and contract drawings. You perform field data collection and/or inspection to ensure installations adhere to design drawings and specifications. Experience in one or more of the following disciplines is required.

    • Fiber and Copper Inside/Outside Plant (ISP/OSP) cabling infrastructure.

    • LAN/WLAN/WAN networks.

Broadband Designer

Jr. OSP Designer

  • This is an entry-level position where you will be building on your current knowledge to learn on the job. We’re looking for someone with a telecommunications background who has worked with fiber optic cabling, Outside Plant (OSP) construction and/or design for both aerial and underground cable placement with experience in FTTx deployments. Ideal candidate will have recently received RCCD certification or be willing to complete the RCDD certification program as an employee of ECC.

  • • Working under the direct supervision of ECC’s RCDD staff

    • Perform Site Assessments to determine project scope and budgets

    • Designing outside plant network facilities

    • Field audits of utility poles identifying service providers and cable types (e.g., CATV, COAX cable, Fiber cable, copper cable,), hardware, span lengths and attachment heights

Broadband Analyst - Make Ready & Permitting

  • The Broadband Analyst Make Ready & Permitter is responsible for managing the flow of information between ECC, the utilities and the Department of Transportation (DOT). This position is vital to the overall success of any project by ensuring all steps of the project process are completed on schedule.

  • • Submits maps and exhibits received by Designer to all utilities for Make Ready.

    • Obtains price quotes for required electric Make Ready.

    • Ensures that all payments are made to utilities for Make Ready.

    • Tracks the Make Ready process to ensure work has been completed and licenses have been received for pole attachments.

    • Submits permit applications to respective DOT, state, county or town.

    • Ensures all payments for permit applications are made.

    • Tracks the permit process to ensure that permits have been received, accepted and approved.

    • Reviews pole attachment agreements.

    • Requests and maintains a record of all required insurances.

    • Reviews contractor applications for payment.

    • Works with clients to ensure ECC and contractor invoicing is received, accepted and paid.

  • • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years on-the-job or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required.
