ECC contracted to explore viability of 11 county Open Access fiber ring.

10/2/09  In a collaborative partnership, between Southern Tier East and Southern Tier Central Regional Planning and Development Boards,   ECC has been contracted to develop a consolidated business plan for the development of a Regional 11 county Open Access fiber model.  Once completed this regional initiative will encompass greater than 500 miles of fiber backbone and be used to support economic development, public safety, healthcare, education, municipal, and broadband expansion.  The Plan is expected to be completed by mid January 2010 in time for the 2nd round of broadband stimulus submissions.
